Rye (4-2) vs. Harrison (6-0)
When: Saturday, 1:30
Where: Nugent Stadium, Rye
Key players: Rye — Andrew Livingston (6-1, 175), So., QB/K; Andrew Aquillino (6-3, 275), Sr., OL/DL; Conor Murphy (5-10, 165), Jr., RB/DB. Harrison — Vin Nicita (6-2, 185), Sr., QB; Charlie Credendino (6-3, 310), Sr., G/DT; Mike Amicucci (5-9, 185), Jr., RB/DB.
Key matchup: Rye’s defense vs. the Harrison running game
Outlook: Harrison leads the all-time series, which dates to 1929, but Rye had cut into the 41-37-3 deficit considerably. The Garnets have won a series-record nine straight, including a physically dominant 17-7 win last year. If the tide turns, now could be the year. Harrison is not only unbeaten but has boasted arguably Class A’s best offense. The Huskies have averaged 37 points per game despite resting starters in the second half of three of them. Amicucci leads a running back quartet that has rushed for 1,399 yards at 9.9 yards per carry, and Nicita’s 673 yards and 11 touchdowns passing have balanced the offense. Livingston, who threw two touchdowns last year as a freshman, leads a Rye offense that will need to prove it can keep up with Harrison’s high-octane attack.
Prediction: Harrison 28, Rye 14
