Weekend Recap Rye Vs Harrison

Rye 21, Harrison 7: Early in the game somebody on the sideline asked me how I thought this one would play out. I said it would be typical Rye-Harrison of the past six years. Rye would control the game, never be in serious dangerous of losing but the scoreboard would reflect something a little different. And that’s pretty much what happened. Rye didn’t move the ball quite as easily as I thought it would (it only ran about 5-6 plays, really). But the Garnets wouldn’t budge defensively with the exception of one drive in the fourth quarter. Harrison simply didn’t have the same to muscle with Rye on the line and few players do as good a job of reading and following blocks as Cole McCormack, who rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
