Jim's View from Rye

Put it in the books…21-6. An extremely impressive debut into Class A for Rye. Ossining Qb Lemar Johnson and RB Matt Laccetti helped keep Ossining in the game but Rye had way too much for them. The most impressive thing about the Rye win, in my book, was how Rye ran the back-up fullback the entire second half with 11 in the box for Ossining. Rye gave Ossining a physical beating during the second half because the Garnets just seemed to trot a lot more capable players on the field …more depth…but Ossining is good….very good. I’m sure they missed having their stud OL/DL Dakota Degree on the field, but Rye played about 99% vanilla in the second half. This Rye team is loaded everyone. I don’t know how good some of the other A teams in Section 1 are going to be this season, but Rye is going to be VERY hard to beat.
