Jim's view of yet another Sectional Championship for Rye

Just back from Mahopac….I'm a Rye fan, and I really try to tone it down when posting about them, but the Rye Garnets were unbeatable once again while cruising to their sixth straight section 1 championship. Rye will take an overall 22 game winning streak to Kingston next friday, and a 57 game winning streak vs section 1 competition into the 2009 season. They beat a very good Pleasantville team tonight also. Rye is just loaded with talent at all positions and was too deep for the Panthers tonight. 52 players saw action tonight for Rye including ten kids brought up from the undefeated JV team…and again…they did this against a well coached very good team. It will be interesting to see Rye in a situation where they have to keep scoring late in the game…who knows how many points they could put up on the board if they have to. William Ramsey, Matt Foristel, Luke O'Malley and TJ Storino who did not dress for the first Rye-P'ville game all played key rolls. Kyle Ramahlo won his second consecutive MVP award, and again most importantly Coach Garr got every one of his 52 dressed players into the game…at times unless you were looking for it, it was difficult to notice due to the talent level of his back-ups…not much drop off. I would also like to commend the Pleasantville coaching staff for getting all his kids into the game in the fourth quarter. Alot of knucklehead's would have left their starters in for another good luck touchdown or two…but P'ville has too much class for that crap….they did the right thing and emptied their bench when the time was right. Pleasantville had a great year and it looks to me that their only two losses may be at the hands of yet another Rye state championship team.
