Rye 10, Chenango Forks 7: No, this won't end on a Sebastian Saunders field goal, although I think he'll kick one. When I look into the crystal ball, I feel this is going to be a game where the Garnets knock on the door for three quarters before finally breaking through with a long TD pass in the fourth to win it.
That's a pretty detailed prediction considering I haven't seen this Forks team in two years. But it's just a vision, I guess. Honestly, my decision to pick Rye is this, and please excuse my Joe Lombardi-like logic, Bobby D!:
These teams have met three times previously. Chenango dominanted one; Rye dominated one. Chenango won the first meeting in an evenly matched game, going ahead because Rye made mistakes and didn't play within itself. This team won't do that. They're not as good, but are far more composed than the 2004 squad. And this group will win a championship
