Kevin Devaney has named him Varsity Insider Player of the Week and said:

"And this week's Varsity Insider player of the week is...

1. Kyle Ramalho, Rye: He didn't dominate the game. He didn't play all that great, either. The fact is, though -- he played. Despite a severe ankle injury, Ramalho proved his toughness by ignoring the pain and stepping onto the field in Rye's dramatic win over Sleepy Hollow, getting 20 carries at fullback, playing more than half the game on the defensive line and punting when the Garnets desperately needed him down the stretch. I actually made a major goof, adding up his stats wrong in The Journal News, giving him 40 more yards than he actually got. Doesn't matter. The 85 yards he provided felt more like 200. The Garnets don't believe they can lose with Ramalho on the field. "
